Info:

Korcula Island is covered in dense woods and lush Mediterranean shrub, its coastline hiding many pristine bays and coves. The island is dotted with small villages whose local production of olive oils, liquors and some of the best white wines in Croatia goes back centuries. The island is a paradise for bikers, who love the challenge of tackling steep hills knowing they will end their day with a refreshing dip into the sea on one of the many gorgeous beaches. Island’s largest town and port is Korcula, a historic fortified town on the east coast of the island. Among Korcula’s many historic sites are the Cathedral of St. Mark, the Town Hall and the massive city fortifications. One is not to miss the interesting museum of Marko Polo, perhaps the most famous of Korcula’s past inhabitants, and maybe a sweet stop at the Cukarin shop for a taste of traditional, home made Korcula cookies.
