Viking Sea and Viking Star in Dubrovnik

Two Viking cruise ships visit Dubrovnik on the first day of spring. Unique shore excursions coupled with great guests, guides and first day of spring ensured the best times.

This Monday, March 20th, was an exciting day for Viking cruise ship’s guests. The ships anchored early in the morning so the guests had an entire day to explore and experience the best of Dubrovnik and it's surrounding areas.

Apart from the usual activities such as walking the walls and visiting the old town the guests also visited the Peljesac peninsula where they tried organic, locally grown food, wine and olive oil. The hosts gave an informative presentation about traditional olive oil production techniques. Afterwards the guests took a boat trip to the oyster farm where they learned about growing and harvesting high quality oysters. Excursion ended with a sunset bus ride passing the many local vineyards and fields.

At the same time other groups participated in various activities such as riding the cable car, visiting Renaissance gardens, tasting locally produced honey, buying groceries at local marketplace with a chef, enjoying the performance of folklore singers and participating in food preparation at a local family's estate.

Lots of laugher, great food and Mediterranean scenery made the beginning of the spring extra special.
