The Viking Saturn is the newest ship in Viking’s award-winning ocean fleet of identical sister ships. Viking’s ocean vessels have 465 staterooms that host 930 guests; the ships feature all veranda staterooms, Scandinavian design, light-filled public spaces, and abundant al fresco dining options.
Viking chose Dubrovnik as an embarkation port for its maiden voyage. Upon arrival at the port, passengers embarking were able to check in at specially designated Viking Cruises’ desks within the port terminal building. After clearing security, passengers were then able to easily board Viking Saturn which was conveniently docked in front of the terminal building.
Srdjan Kristic, managing director at Adriatic DMC said: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to welcome one of Viking’s new vessels on its maiden voyage for the third time in 12 months. It's always a pleasure for us to work with the team at Viking Cruises to deliver ground operations in Adriatic ports and today was no exception.”
Passengers were able to enjoy a host of shore excursions in the Dubrovnik region delivered by Adriatic DMC including a walking tour of Dubrovnik’s UNESCO Heritage Site and wine tasting in picturesque countryside.
The ship will sail from Dubrovnik to the Greek island of Corfu.
Viking’s Chairman, Torstein Hagen, expressed his pride in the company’s latest addition: “We are very proud to welcome the newest sister ship to our award-winning ocean fleet. We are also grateful that Ann Ziff has honored us by serving as godmother of the Viking Saturn.”
Viking Saturn will be officially named on 6th June 2023 in a ceremony in New York.
