Adriatic DMC Welcomes Royal Caribbean to Albania for First Time

Adriatic DMC handles ground operations in southern Albanian port for Royal Caribbean on its first arrival in the country

International cruise line Royal Caribbean sailed into Albania for the first time ever this week.

Its vessel Explorer of the Seas anchored off the coast of Sarande on the morning of July 11th.

Leading regional destination management company Adriatic DMC handled ground operations in the southern Albanian port for Royal Caribbean on its first arrival in the country. Passengers were able to choose between seven different shore excursions from Sarande port delivered by Adriatic DMC including Highlights of South Albania, and Blue Eye Spring & Roman Site of Butrint.

Albania has three seaports serviced by Adriatic DMC, Durres, Sarande, and Vlore.

Managing director at Adriatic DMC, Srdjan Kristic, commented, “Developing and finalizing the program of shore excursions for Royal Caribbean in Albania was a wonderful opportunity to present the beauty of Albania’s natural landscapes, its fascinating culture, and long, rich history. The shore excursions we have delivered in Sarande this week truly showcase the destination and country as Europe’s emerging tourism star. I hope that Royal Caribbean’s move into Albanian waters will inspire other cruise companies to explore this part of southern Europe for 2024 and beyond.
